Attorney LeBrasseur

My passion is criminal defense and I am dedicated to protecting you rights.  I was admitted to practice of law in the State of Maine in 1997.  I have practiced in different areas of the law but I truly enjoy criminal defense and that is all I do.  My experiences in my personal and professional life will benefit you and assist me in my representation of you.

I have resided in the State of Maine since 1980 and consider myself a Mainer.  Both of my parents are Mainers being born in Waterville and Lewiston.  I am the youngest of five children.  My dad served this great country for 5 years in the United States Navy and 20 years in the United States Army.  I am a “military brat” and had a great deal of discipline instilled in me that will benefit you in my representation of you.  Additionally, I got the opportunity to travel as a child and this experience gives me a better understanding of different cultures and people.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in history, summa cum laude, from St. Joseph’s College in 1994.  I graduated fifth out of 141 students and was a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Scholastic Honor Society.  I graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 1997 with the Judge Gignoux Appellate Advocacy Award.  I was a Prize Arguer for the Moot Court Board and had the opportunity to argue before the Maine Law Court as a student.  I worked as a student attorney with the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office during my third year of law school.  As a student attorney I had the opportunity to review cases and make charging decisions, represent the State of Maine at plea hearings, sentencing, motion hearing, bench trials and jury trials.  Upon graduating from law school, I worked as an associate attorney for a small general practice firm.  My practice areas included criminal defense, family law, and general litigation.  I opened my own law firm in July of 2000 practicing solely as a criminal defense attorney.  The Maine Department of Attorney General hired me in 2002 as the York County Drug Prosecutor where I appeared in court on a daily basis prosecuting drug offense and worked closely with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA).  I was also an instructor at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.  I joined the Maine legal office of Liberty Mutual Insurance Companies at the Law Offices of Frederick C. Moore where my practice concentrated in general liability and trial work.   I defended multinational corporations and individuals insured with Liberty Mutual Insurance Companies.  While at Liberty Mutual I realized and came to understand that my true calling in my professional life is as a criminal defense attorney.  Today, all I do is criminal defense.

My experiences, dedication, commitment, and education can only benefit you.  If you are charged with violating Maine law call me to discuss how I can assist you.
